New Office 365 feature: Shared status indicator for Shared Folders on OneDrive for BusinessSharing Folders

Microsoft’s newest feature offers you the ability to know when a folder is shared on OneDrive For Business and OneDrive consumer. This makes it easier to identify when other have access to a folder from the in-folder view. You’ll begin seeing this new feature in the coming weeks.

How does this affect you?

Microsoft’s added this sharing indicator on the end of the breadcrumb to make it clear in the in-folder view when that folder is shared with others. To learn more about who the folder is shared with, users can click the sharing glyph to open the “Manage Access” pane. Clicking on the sharing glyph provides more information about who the folder is shared with and how it is shared in the Manage Access pane.

From this view, users can access the Share command to send shareable links to others or the Grant Access command to grant permissions to specific people and manage existing permissions to the folder.

Microsoft will be gradually rolling this out to First Release customers in the following weeks, and the roll out will be completed by the end of September.
