Office 365’s new feature for Advanced Data Governance: Event-Based Retention

By the end of this month, Microsoft will have completed a worldwide rollout of their new Event-Based Retention feature in Advanced Data Governance for Office 365 E5 customers.

Organizations that manage their retention of content can trigger retention of policies with Events in Advanced Data Governance. Event-based retention will help organizations create triggers for retention or deletion of policies when a specified event occurs.

Microsoft Teams chat and team channels will also be included in the Data Governance features of the Security & Compliance Center. Admin can now set retention policies to Teams content, like you can across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Groups.

Check out this video on triggering retention policies with Events in Advanced Data Governance.
