Unleashing Office Mix in PowerPoint

Are you in search of an easy to use tool that will help you creative online presentations for your organization? Have you ever heard of Office Mix?

What is Office Mix?Office mix

Office Mix is an add-on to PowerPoint that allows you to record audio, screen-capture, record video of yourself presenting and writing on your slides as you speak. With Office Mix you can also insert quizzes, polls, online videos, and other websites directly into your PowerPoint presentation.

Microsoft is upgrading regular PowerPoint presentations with the Office Mix add-on. Office Mix is taking existing PowerPoint slides and turning them into cloud-hosted interactive lessons.

In order to start using Office Mix you will need a copy of PowerPoint 2013, or an Office 365 account with the downloaded rights for the latest Office. You also need to be running on at least Windows 7, 8, or 8.1.

Creating an Office Mix

Creating an Office Mix is pretty straight-forward and it will help to sharpen your PowerPoint skills if you don’t use it that often. You will have to start creating slides in PowerPoint, add interactive elements as necessary from the new Mix toolbar in PowerPoint. Once your set of slides is put together how you like them, it is time to unleash the real power of Office Mix.

The real Power of Office Mix comes with the ability to record on to your slides with unique screen capture features.  Add annotations, record voice overs, add original audio and much more. The other powerful feature of Office Mix is the ability to add polls and questions that will help students learn from these interactive presentations.

Once you have finished your Office Mix and your presentation is ready to go, click “Upload to Mix”. Your Mix comes complete with analytics, and space in the cloud. Now you have access to different ways to share and embed your Office Mix. You can embed your Office mix on your website (see below), you can share your Mix via a link or have it emailed to people in your organization or personal life that want to see it.
