Automatic hiding of inactive channels

Keep your channels list up-to-date effortlessly. Teams will identify and hide inactive channels you haven’t used recently. You can review and unhide channels, disable automatic hiding in settings, or start the process manually.

Teams message search made easier

You will now see message result suggestions come up as you start typing in your query. You can also narrow down search results to “messages” (weeding out other results, like documents) helping you more quickly find the Teams message you need.

Teams channel cards

Channel cards offer a quick snapshot of key details about channel recent activity, the channel’s participants and its purpose. You can access these cards by hovering over the channel name in the header or any mention of the channel.

Meeting attachments visible in the calendar for all invitees

Any file attachments added to a meeting invite in Outlook (desktop or web app) will now be accessible to invitees in the Teams calendar.

Transfer Teams calls to your mobile

When using Teams on mobile devices, users can seamlessly transfer their active calls to the phone’s native dialer without any interruption or loss of context.

Send updates only to added or removed attendees

When modifying meeting attendees, organizers will have the option to send updates exclusively to the newly added or removed attendees, or to all attendees. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows and web.

Private phone line in Teams

Teams Phone will introduce Private Line, a new feature that allows you to assign a private secondary phone number to select users. This enables them to receive direct inbound calls, bypassing delegates, admins, or assistants. Calls to the private line will have a distinct notification and ringtone.

Custom emojis and reactions

Users can now personalize their communication by uploading custom emojis and reactions. These custom emojis will be accessible within the user’s tenant in chat and channels through the emoji and reaction menus.
