‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (with a CGNET Twist)

Technology Santa

Our former VP of Technology, Tim Haight wrote this some years ago. It still gives me a chuckle.

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the room,

Nothing was working, not even the broom.

The servers were hung; how their red lights were blinking,

The Internet down, my spirits were sinking.

When out in reception I heard such a clatter,

I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.

Who was this guy all dressed up in red?

And oh, by the way, what was up with the sled?

His droll little mouth was drawn up in a bow

And the beard on his chin was white as the snow.

His eyes had the twinkle of intellect true,

As quickly to work on my system he flew.

“Now bridging- now routing – now Ethernet hubs!”

He chanted as each piece of hardware he rubbed.

“Cheer up my dear boy, and don’t be so tragic!

Technology’s a second cousin of magic.”

“How can I thank you? You must be Saint Nick!”

He said, “Really, my friend, it’s not such a great trick.”

And I heard him say, as his reindeer were coursing:

“Merry Networks to all!   And consider outsourcing!”

Happy Holidays from Team CGNET!
