In September, I wrote about Microsoft’s “Copilot in 30” program, which gives smaller organizations a chance to test Microsoft 365 Copilot for free without committing to a bunch of new licenses. If you read that post, thought “That sounds interesting,” and then promptly got distracted by the other 25 things on your to-do list, consider this your friendly reminder.
The offer ends December 31, 2026. And with the holidays approaching, there’s less time to take advantage of it than you might think.
A Free Trial That’s Actually Worth Exploring
Here’s a quick refresher: Microsoft’s Copilot in 30 program offers eligible organizations with fewer than 300 employees a free, 30-day trial of Microsoft 365 Copilot Business for up to 25 users. That’s a pretty generous opportunity to find out whether AI can make a meaningful difference in your organization’s day-to-day work. And for nonprofits watching every dollar, the chance to test something before investing in it is especially appealing.
But the real value isn’t getting 25 free licenses. It’s discovering whether Copilot can actually save your staff time, reduce tedious tasks, and help people work more efficiently.
Imagine What Your Staff Could Do with a Little Help
Think about the work that eats up your employees’ days. Sorting through overflowing inboxes. Catching up on Teams meetings they missed. Drafting reports, preparing presentations, hunting down documents, or trying to make sense of complicated spreadsheets. Now imagine giving them an AI assistant that can help with those tasks, right inside the Microsoft 365 applications they already use.
For a small nonprofit where everyone wears multiple hats, even modest time savings can make a difference. That’s time your staff could spend on the work that actually advances your mission.
Of course, Copilot isn’t magic. It makes mistakes, it needs guidance, and it won’t transform your organization overnight. But wouldn’t it be nice to find out what it can do before you spend money on it?
CGNET Can Help You Make Those 30 Days Count
Here’s where we come in. CGNET can help turn Microsoft’s free trial into a structured, practical AI pilot designed around your organization’s actual needs. We can help you get ready by reviewing your Microsoft 365 environment for potential data security and permissions issues. We’ll work with you to identify useful applications for Copilot, select trial participants, and provide training so your employees know how to get meaningful results.
And when the 30 days are up? We’ll help evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and whether investing in Copilot licenses makes financial and operational sense.
Because our goal isn’t to convince you to buy AI. It’s to help you make an informed decision about whether AI is worth buying.
Don’t Wait Until December 30
Technically, you have until December 31 to take advantage of Microsoft’s offer. But between getting your environment ready, choosing participants, and scheduling training, waiting until the last minute probably isn’t the best strategy. Especially when half your staff may be mentally checked out for the holidays.
The good news is that you don’t have to figure it all out yourself. If your nonprofit has been curious about Copilot, now is the time to give it a serious look. Microsoft is providing the opportunity to experiment, and CGNET can provide the expertise to make that experiment worthwhile.
